Welcome to Magisterium AI
A short tour of the most-used features so you can get faithful answers fast.
Jul 23, 2024
Welcome! Magisterium AI is built to answer questions about Catholic teaching using the world's largest indexed library of magisterial documents and theological works. Here's a quick orientation.
Ask your first question
Type anything in the chat box and press Enter. Try a question like:
- "What does the Catechism say about prayer?"
- "Walk me through the parts of the Mass."
- "Summarize Pope Francis on the dignity of work."
Every answer is grounded in real documents, with References you can open below the response.

The chat tools (the + button)
Click the + next to the input box to access:
- Sources — choose Auto (default) or Magisterial (Church teaching only). When Magisterial is selected, you can further narrow down by document type using Filter. Available on every plan.
- Reason — turn on Reasoning Mode for deeper, slower, more rigorous answers. Pro feature.
- Canvas — work on a longer document side-by-side with the AI. Pro feature.
- Learn — generate quizzes and flashcards from your questions. Pro feature.
- Add files — attach a PDF, image, or document for the AI to read. Pro feature.
Voice and dictation (Pro)
Both controls below are Pro features on the web — Free users see them as Pro and are sent to the Plan page when they click them.
- The microphone icon dictates your prompt while you speak.
- The waveform icon starts a real-time spoken conversation in Voice Mode.
Holy Widgets
Open Holy Widgets from the sidebar for daily liturgical tools: today's Mass readings, the saints of the day, the Order of Mass, the Rosary, the Confession Guide, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, the Stations of the Cross, and more.

Save and revisit
- Sign in to keep your chat history across devices.
- Pin any chat (three-dot menu) to keep it at the top of your sidebar.
- Save documents and bookmark pages you find useful — they live in My Library.
Customize your experience
Open Settings → Personalization from the account sidebar to tell us your diocese, role, and other context so the AI can tailor answers (for example, knowing your liturgical calendar or denomination).
