Unlinking WhatsApp from your account

Remove the link between your Magisterium AI account and your WhatsApp number.

May 11, 2026

If you want to stop routing WhatsApp messages to your Magisterium AI account — or if you're changing phone numbers — you can unlink.

Unlink from Settings

  1. Click your name in the sidebar and choose Settings.
  2. Open the WhatsApp tab.
  3. Next to your linked number, click Unlink.
  4. Confirm.
The WhatsApp account settings page. A heading reads 'WhatsApp Integration'. Below it is a form with a phone number input field labelled 'Phone number' and a 'Send Code' button for linking a number to the account. The account sidebar on the left lists Preferences, Personalization, Data controls, Account, WhatsApp (active), Documents, Queries, Playground, and My Plan.

After unlinking, your WhatsApp messages to Magisterium AI are treated as unlinked (anonymous or limited-account behaviour) until you re-link.

What happens to past WhatsApp messages

Past WhatsApp conversations remain in your account history. Unlinking doesn't delete them. To remove them, see How do I clear my prompt history?.

Re-linking or changing numbers

After unlinking, you can link a new phone number from the same WhatsApp settings page. Enter the new number and complete the SMS code step.

Still getting messages from the bot?

  • Unlinking doesn't block the bot. You can also delete or archive the conversation in WhatsApp to stop seeing it.
  • If you no longer want to use WhatsApp at all, simply archive the chat — our number won't re-appear unless you message it first.
