WhatsApp features and limits
What you can and can't do on the WhatsApp version of Magisterium AI.
May 11, 2026
Chatting on WhatsApp is a subset of the full web experience, optimized for quick questions, readings, and prayer.
What works well on WhatsApp
- Natural questions with sourced answers and citations.
- Follow-ups in the same thread — Magisterium AI remembers the conversation.
- Daily Mass readings and today's saints — just ask.
- Rosary and prayer walkthroughs (guided prayer sequences).
- Image messages — send a photo of a passage, page, or scene and ask about it. Max image size 5 MB.
- Audio messages — the AI transcribes and responds.
- Language — ask in any supported language; the AI usually responds in kind.
What's not available on WhatsApp
- Voice Mode (live two-way voice conversation) — use the web or mobile app.
- Canvas Mode (long-form document drafting).
- Learn Mode quizzes and flashcards as interactive widgets.
- File uploads like PDFs or Office documents — WhatsApp supports images only for now.
- Reasoning Mode toggles — most questions route through a standard model.
Limits
- Linked accounts count WhatsApp messages against your Magisterium AI plan: 90/week on Free, unlimited on Pro and Organization.
- Unlinked numbers get the unauthenticated allowance (10 messages / week) and are prompted to link or sign up when they reach it.
- A short per-minute throttle (around 10 AI messages a minute) applies to every phone number to prevent abuse — if you go over, the bot stays quiet briefly until the window resets.
Linking your number
Linking associates your WhatsApp with your account so your Pro or Organization plan applies. See Using Magisterium AI on WhatsApp.

Timezone for scheduled content
If you use WhatsApp for things like daily readings delivered at a set time, you can configure your timezone in Settings → WhatsApp.
Privacy on WhatsApp
Messages are routed through WhatsApp and stored in your Magisterium AI account like any other chat. They're subject to the same Privacy Policy.
