Discover related passages with Explore

Explore is an interactive map of passages in Magisterium AI's library. Use it when you want to discover related texts or browse a subject without knowing exactly which document to open.

What am I looking at?

Each point represents a passage, not a whole book. Passages are arranged by similarity of meaning, so nearby points can help you discover related material. The Clusters panel names broad groups of content.

The map is a guide to discovery. Position, distance, and cluster size do not indicate a text's teaching authority or importance. The axes are not dates or a scale of beliefs, and nearby passages do not necessarily agree.

Search the map and open a source

Sign in and select Explore at the top of the app, or open Explore. Explore is currently available in the English interface.
Wait for the map to load, then enter a topic in the search bar. Try the purpose of evil, prayer, or faith and reason.
Press Enter or select the search arrow. Matching points are highlighted and a Results panel appears.
Select a result to locate its point and open a preview. Select Open document in the preview to read the source.

The results list may show only the top matches, while the map highlights more. Several points can come from the same document. Counts and cluster names may change as the library grows.

Use the sliders icon to filter by author, document, focus, or document type, then select Apply. The filters work as described in Find sources with Search. Searches use your shared Chat query allowance.

Browse without a question

Select a group in Clusters to focus your browsing. You can select more than one group; use Clear in the Clusters panel to show all groups again. Selecting a cluster clears an active search, so you can browse the group on its own.

On a computer, hover over a point to see a preview, then click to keep that preview open. On a touch screen, tap a point. If a preview is labelled AI-generated summary, open the document to read the source wording.

Move around the map

Zoom: Use the zoom-in and zoom-out buttons. You can also scroll over the map or pinch on a touch screen.
Move the view: Use the directional arrow controls. Dragging lets you change your view of the map.
Start over: Select the home-shaped Reset view control to return to the overview. Clear a search or cluster selection separately when you want to remove it.
Make room: Hide the Results or Clusters panel, then reopen it using Show results or Show clusters. On a small screen, results appear as a horizontal strip above the map; swipe sideways to browse them.

Inspect a region on a computer

Select the dashed-square Select a region control, then drag a rectangle around some points. The Region summary shows the number of selected points, their cluster composition, and distinctive terms when available. This describes your selection, not a summary of Church teaching.

The region-selection and full-screen controls are available in the desktop layout.

If you lose your place

Use Reset view if you are zoomed too far in. Use Clear search to remove a search, or Clear in Clusters to remove a cluster selection. If a search finds nothing, clear its filters and try a broader topic.

If the map does not load, refresh the page. You can still use Search to find source passages in a list.
