The Source Library is the full list of documents Magisterium AI searches when answering. You can browse it, search by title or author, and filter by document type — useful if you want to find a specific encyclical, catechism edition, or commentary.

Open the Source Library

The /about/documents Source Library page, lead text 'Magisterium AI references an ever-growing number of Church documents/resources. If you'd like to check if a specific document is included in our AI's knowledge base, please use the search function below.' Search controls include a 'Search 31,319 documents' field, an authors search, an 'All types' dropdown, and Magisterial / Scholarly toggles. Below, a 'Featured' grid shows document cards: Catechism of the Catholic Church, The Sources of Catholic Dogma (Enchiridion Symbolorum), Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church, Apologia Pro Vita Sua (John Henry Newman), Rule of Benedict, De Principiis (Origen), A Treatise on the Soul (Tertullian), The City of God (Augustine), The Confessions, The Holy Bible (NRSV-CE), On the Baptism of Christ (Gregory of Nyssa), Code of Canon Law, Homilies on the Psalms (Hilary of Poitiers), Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, General Instruction of the Roman Missal, and more.

Filter by document type

Use the Document type filter to narrow to categories such as:

  • Papal documents — encyclicals, apostolic letters, motu proprio, bulls, etc.
  • Council documents — e.g. Vatican II.
  • Catechisms — multiple editions and translations.
  • Bibles and Bible commentary.
  • Works of saints and theologians — e.g. Summa, City of God.
  • Canon law and similar reference sources.

Click any result to open it in the Document Viewer, where you can:

  • Read in full, scrolling by verse or paragraph.
  • Listen to this page read aloud.
  • Query this document to start a chat with the document as context.
  • Bookmark a page or Save the whole document to My Library.
