Managing parish statistics and finances

Add or import parish figures, review trends, export data, and choose whether to publish each section.

Statistics and Financials are read-only views of your parish’s figures and trends. Open Manage Data to add or correct individual values, upload figures with a CSV template, and control publication.

You need parish content-editing permission to change figures. Viewing, editing, and publishing are separate actions.

Add figures with a CSV

  1. Open Manage Data in your parish workspace, select Statistics or Financials, and choose Upload statistics or Upload finances. Empty Statistics and Financials pages also offer a starter CSV and upload controls.
  2. Choose Download template. Use the template for the section you are updating and keep its column headings.
  3. Fill in the relevant years, metrics, and values. One file can cover several years; repeat the rows with the appropriate reporting or fiscal year. For finance uploads, follow the template’s units and currency fields; enter revenue as positive values and expenses as negative values.
  4. Save the file as CSV, then use the upload area to choose or drop the file.
  5. Review the preview’s Accepted, Rejected, Duplicates, and Years information. Read the row-level messages and correct the file if needed.
  6. Choose Commit accepted rows when the preview matches the update you intend to make.

Previewing a file does not change charts or public data. Only accepted rows are applied when you commit; rejected rows are not silently repaired. If you change the file, preview the revised file before committing it.

Review and correct values

Check the section after an import. Confirm the reporting years, labels, units, currency, and signs. In Manage Data, choose the appropriate year and use the row actions for small corrections. Add a year when you need to enter a period that is not yet on file. For Financials, check the selected currency as well. Use Export CSV when you need a copy of the data.

A missing year or value should not be read as zero. Add a figure only when you have the corresponding information. Comparing years is most useful when the same measure and reporting basis are used consistently.

If an edit is blocked because the figure is tied to a submitted report, ask your diocese to reopen the report for correction. Changes to a previously submitted reporting period must follow that report’s correction workflow.

Publish a section

Statistics and Financials remain private until your parish chooses to publish them. You can review publication in Manage Data or in Settings → Public visibility.

Add figures before enabling publication; empty sections cannot be published. Read the confirmation and preview before proceeding. Publishing exposes the complete read-only section, including future committed updates while publication remains enabled. It does not let you publish only selected rows or years.

The two sections have independent switches. Publishing Statistics does not also publish Financials. You can turn publication off again if the section should no longer be available to visitors.

Data and reports work together

Parish reports can prefill information already on file and connect report answers to stored figures. Always review those values in the report for the correct year. Uploading a CSV does not submit an Annual or OCD report; finish its Review and submit step separately.
