Understanding Pastoral Insights

Pastoral Insights helps your diocesan team understand themes in the questions your community brings to Magisterium AI. Reports show aggregated patterns in topics, sentiment, and engagement. They are a starting point for pastoral discussion, not a record of individual conversations.

When Insights becomes available

Open Insights from your diocese dashboard. Your account needs access to the diocese’s private tools.

Before a report can be generated, enough members of the diocese must opt in to sharing anonymized usage data. The page shows the participation requirement, the number who have opted in, and how many more are needed. Use those displayed numbers to check progress.

Members choose whether to enable Contribute to diocese insights in their account settings. Joining the organization and contributing to Insights are separate choices. An administrator’s invitation does not make that choice for a member.

Meeting the threshold does not produce a report immediately. The dashboard may show that the first report is being prepared for the next quarterly generation. If you see that message, there is no report to open yet.

Read a quarterly report

1. Open an available report and use Quarter to select the period you want to review.
2. Read the executive summary for the main themes.
3. Review the topic, keyword, sentiment, and engagement sections that are available for that period.
4. Use the chart controls to inspect the displayed series. You can pin useful tiles to the top of your view.
5. Choose PDF to open the print workflow if you need a copy for a meeting.

Read dates, labels, and sample-data notices together with the charts. A missing breakdown is not evidence that no one in that group uses Magisterium AI; the report may not have enough eligible data to display it.

What the report tells you

Insights describes participation among people represented in the report. It does not survey every Catholic in the diocese. Changes can reflect who is using the service as well as what people are asking about.

Sentiment summarizes the tone of conversations. It should not be treated as a diagnosis or a judgment about an individual’s faith. The example questions are representative examples, not actual user prompts.

Use the findings to frame questions for your team: which topics might benefit from a formation session, which resources could be easier to find, or which themes merit listening more closely? Combine the report with local experience before making decisions.

Insights and parish reporting

Pastoral Insights is separate from Annual Parish Pastoral Reports and Official Catholic Directory updates. Completing a parish report supplies institutional information; it does not increase the Insights opt-in count or substitute for a quarterly usage report.
